Devil Fruits

Devil Fruits are mystical fruits found in the world that can give the eater many different and varying kinds of strange and interesting abilities, depending on the type and variation of the fruit itself.

Devil Fruits are said to be the fruits of the Sea Devil and that the secret to their power is hidden in the Grand Line. Because encounters with them are rare (especially outside the Grand Line), a number of rumors about them have risen, making it difficult to tell whether some things are fact or fiction. The average person knows nothing or very little about what they are or what they do; this especially applies to isolated countries, even within the Grand Line, such as Amazon Lily and Wano Country.

One running theme with Devil Fruits, however, is the fact that they taste unimaginably bad, to the point of making it seem like the user had taken poison. The Devil Fruit, when consumed, gives the consumer a power or special trait, which they will immediately become aware of; a person who has eaten a Devil Fruit and gained its powers is known as a Devil Fruit User (能力者 Nōryoku-sha, literally meaning "Ability User" or "Esper"). They come in different shapes and colors, and all Devil Fruits presumably have swirl marks or patterns on them of some kind. Only one bite is needed for the user to gain the power of a Devil Fruit, after which the Devil Fruit becomes a simple, useless, disgusting fruit. Despite this, all users tend to eat the entire fruit, as they are usually unaware of this fact.

When a Devil Fruit user dies, their ability is reborn into another fruit of the same kind. Instead of growing from a plant, the ability simply regenerates inside another existing fruit. You may not quest for a fruit you previously had on another character. Upon ingesting a Devil Fruit you have the right to replace one of your old Skill Sets with a Skill Set incorporating the Fruit.

Rules

  • Only one devil fruit may be eaten by a character, yet that doesn't restrict you from committing suicide by eating another one. This also applies to NPCs, weapons, and pets.

  • You can have as many devil fruits in your possession as you like, but you cannot stockpile them and limit RP for others.

  • Any Devil Fruits that are absorbed by a hammer space related fruit, Swamp Swamp, Dark Dark, the literal Hammer Space Fruit, do not count as ingesting two devil fruits nor does it grant you the power to utilize the stored fruit.

  • Fruits will always find their way back into the world and the hands of men; whether or not you throw the fruit into the ocean or burn it.

  • Out of any of your alts and your main, you can only have 1 type of fruit for each; meaning only 1 paramecia, 1 zoan, and 1 logia.

Side Effects

With this new power comes a weakness: the sea rejects the new Devil Fruit user and they become helpless while submerged in water (or "become a hammer," in Japanese parlance). Devil Fruit users are susceptible to all types of water, not just seawater. This includes the white sea surrounding Skypiea. Moving water, like rain or waves, however, does not weaken Devil Fruit users, while standing water does. It isn’t until after a user is knee-deep in water that they become immobilized.

Even if a part of the user is submerged, they cannot use their Devil Fruit powers, no matter how much or how little is submerged. However, if the user's body has been permanently altered by the fruit, then the user's ability can be manipulated by outside sources. An example being when Luffy was underwater, but since his body is literally rubber, someone could grab his head and forcefully stretch him.

Being weak against the sea proves deadly to many Devil Fruit users who are pirates and Marines sailing the Grand Line. Additionally, the use of a Devil Fruit puts users at odds with races like the fishmen and some with greater weakness to the sea than normal (like the Kage Kage no Mi whose zombies are purified with salt) are almost useless against these races. However, the Devil Fruit power will also render a Fishman or Merman just as weak in water as it would anyone else.

Seastone, a special substance that emits the same energies of the sea, can also cancel out Devil Fruit powers through physical contact with the user. How weakened the user's movements become depends on how much physical contact the user has with the Seastone. Light contact is enough to make a Devil Fruit user feel sick in their stomach, this would be like a light brush against the substance. Moderate contact and anything greater is enough to make the Devil Fruit user feel as if their strength is sapped out their body and they are unable to move their muscles. Objects with Seastone incorporated in their makeup can come in different densities or amounts of Seastone meaning that meaning that some custom objects made with Seastone can have weaker effects than listed above that just nullify powers, albeit this exception, no custom Seastone items created can have more powerful effect than what is listed above.

Obtaining Fruits

Rolls
The rolling system is a fairly simple system that consists of dices, and the luck that you might get. The Roll Topic is where you must roll the forum dice to see which of the three types of devil fruit you can get. You can choose any type of the ones that you rolled to quest for or buy.*

Questing
After you roll and decide which type of devil fruit to pursue, you have to begin question for them if you want any chance to get that fruit. The type of quest that you will be done will be totally up to you, yet the difficulty is based off of the tier of the fruit.
